Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis

The information in this course will provide the necessary resources and tools to find the root cause of the incident in order to prevent the event from happening again.  The purpose of the investigation is to find facts that can lead to corrective actions, not to find fault. The instructor will guide the participant though a real case in a health care setting.

Hazard Management

Hazard management is a proactive process to identify hazards and eliminate or reduce the risk of injury and illness to workers and damage to property, equipment and the environment. By managing all hazards, employers demonstrate their commitment and due diligence to a healthy and safe workplace.

Workplace Inspections

Workplace inspections help prevent injuries and illnesses by Identify and record hazards for corrective action. Regular workplace inspections are an important part of the overall safety Management System program.

Supervisor and Manager Roles & Responsibilities 

The supervisor is an agent of the employer; therefore, they have responsibilities depending on their level of control over their employees and the work being performed. This course will educate the Supervisor on their roles and responsibilities with in the Safety Management System and the NS Act and Regulations.

Contractor Safety

Contractors are regularly at our workplace do you know your obligation when dealing with Contactors? This course will help you understand your role as well as the role of the contractor performing work.

The following topics will be discussed:

Stay at Work/Return to Work

Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work (SAW/RTW) program helps to improve health outcomes for injured/ill employees, increases the likelihood of employee returning back to the work force on a full time basis, and reduces costs for the injured employees and organization. Stay at Work planning is directed at those individuals who have sustained a minor injury/illness and do not need to lose time from work, but may benefit from temporary transitional work modifications. This course is designed review the process for SAW/RTW, review trends and best practices and provides time to discuss participants program both the successes and challenges.
