Using an evidence-based approach, we work in collaboration with our partners and stakeholders including the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, Nova Scotia Department of Community Services, the Workers Compensation Board of Nova Scotia, other industry safety associations, researchers, employers, employees, unions and others to deliver programs and services that promote effective practices for health and safety throughout the sector and ensure health and safety educational resources are available to all stakeholders.

Representation
AWARE-NS is governed by a Board of Directors representing the Nova Scotia Health Authority, home care, community based care, facility based long term care, front line workers and labor. The Directors seek support and guidance from stakeholders in the health and community services sector therefore; a representative from each of the following is invited to every Director’s meeting in an ex-officio capacity:
AWARE-NS is a non-profit provincial association and receives funding from the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness.
